A MILITARY WIDOW TORN BETWEEN LOVE AND DUTY
Widowed Black Hawk pilot Kristie Donovan is determined not to fall for Mack Hanlon, the Army sniper she saved on a mission tied to a drug cartel. Army regulations about rank mean Mack is off-limits. Besides, she’s not risking what’s left of her heart on another man in Special Ops. But when Mack insists on protecting Kristie from a fellow soldier with a grudge, he sparks her hope for a second chance at love.
AN ELITE SOLDIER SHOOTING FOR ANOTHER CHANCE
Mack’s marriage failed because his ex-wife was done with all things Army. Now he wants to find a woman who understands his drive to serve and protect—a woman like the attractive Black Hawk pilot who pulled off the daring rescue mission. All he has to do is break through her defenses.
A DEADLY CARTEL AIMING FOR VENGEANCE
Mack’s victory is in sight when they learn the same cartel has targeted Kristie due to her connection to the men behind the death of the drug lord’s son—Mack’s Bad Karma Special Ops team. Though Mack is determined to protect Kristie, she has her own plan to keep herself, Mack, his daughters, and the Bad Karma team out of harm’s reach. But when the cartel captures her before she acts, can Mack and his team save her from the drug lord aimed at getting vengeance against them?

a kick-butt heroine and a wonderfully supportive and equally kick-but hero

This book has cussing, described action/violence (nothing terrible but it IS a military book), and on-page sex. If those things bother you, skip this one. Slight spoilers in this review. Nothing major. Ms. Brody writes books for readers who require more from their characters than just sex and dirty talk. Her heroes are, of course, strong, brave, and unfairly handsome. They are alphas, but not alpha-holes. Mack doesn't order Kristie around, and he doesn't try to change her. He not only accepts her for who she is, he finds her irresistible because she is not a cookie cutter girl. What sets this book apart from a lot of others in the military romance genre are Ms. Brody's heroines. Her heroines are also smart and capable and incredibly strong. Kristie wasn't just a pretty face or set dressing, she was bad@$$ and capable without being unbelievable. She's exactly the kind of “self-rescuing princess” type heroine I want to read about. I also appreciate that Ms. Brody very obviously has done copious amounts of research in regards to military operations and lives. If you're one of those people who clench your teeth when an author writes about the military but is totally clueless about how it works, you have nothing to worry about here. Ms. Brody nails it. Although this is absolutely a story about the love that Mack and Kristie develop for each other, I love love LOVED the way that Ms. Brody handled Kristie's husband's death - and life – with such incredible respect and dignity. Eric was a great guy, and she made sure that came across when she wrote about him. I loved that Kristie thought of him fondly, still with so much love, and that she didn't hide that from Mack, nor did Mack expect her to just move on and pretend that her husband never existed. I don't want to spoil anything, but tears were shed while reading “614” (if you read it, you will understand.) I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a kick-butt heroine and a wonderfully supportive and equally kick-but hero. If you're not sure about a military romance, you can't go wrong with this one.

Awesome Read!

Wow! Awesome book. If you love military Romance novels then this book is a must buy. It's well written with a storyline that flows well and is plenty hot and steamy. It has plenty of action and the storyline is believable. I never felt like the storyline was rushed. Tracy Brody has been officially added to my must read military Romance list. I can't wait to read the stories of the rest of the guys from Bad Karma.

A must read!

Another Tracy Brody book I could not put down. The opening act draws you right in to the action and still provides a lot of background. The characters are so real because they have real backgrounds you feel like you can relate to them right away. I love the development of the team as the story unfolds. Lots of highs and lows to keep you drawn in. The accuracy of the military action is spot on and well researched. Romance and lots of feeling, Kristie and Mack keep you rooting for them throughout the story. The ending is perfect! Can not wait for Book #3! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

danger and adventure

I loved how much we learned in this book - about the teams and what they do, plus some pretty handy escape techniques. The characters were awesome. I stayed up till the wee hours of the morning reading this. Danger and adventure and action and family and romance. I just can’t get enough!

Awesome Military Romantic Suspense

This is the second book in Tracy Brody's Bad Karma series and it was so worth the read! The heroine is a Black Hawk pilot and the hero an Army special operator (Delta). These characters feel real, real problems, real thoughts, and feelings. Its obvious Ms. Brody did her military research and the authenticity of the military life comes through. The suspense plot keeps the action flowing and is well written. Can't wait for the next book!

MILITARY SACRIFICE & NEW BEGINNINGS!! LOVE IT!!

Read this book in 2 evenings! An amazing story of military hero’s, love & new beginnings! So authentic I felt like I was watching the story unfold before my eyes, not just in my mind. I’ve lived in Savannah and the Carolinas among these families and it made their sacrifice and hard work real. Can’t wait for the next book! I didn’t want it to end!

I am loving this series.

I am loving this series. Action, romance, great characters. I loved Mack and Kristie. I loved that Kristie was a pilot. I'm loving the men of Bad Karma. I couldn't put this book down and can't wait for Tony's story.

Exciting!

I loved this book! Tracy makes the characters feel like friends, you can’t help rooting for them. I enjoyed seeing a tough guy as a loving Dad. It was exciting and enjoyable to read.

DEADLY AIM IS A SPECTACULAR STORY!

Tracy Brody continued her Bad Karma Ops series with a spectacular story of widowed Black Hawk pilot, Kristie, and sniper, Mack. Where Desperate Choices was the prequel leading in to the series, Deadly Aim is set about 12 years in the future with Ray Lundgren now the team leader for Bad Karma team. Kristie's late husband was also Special Forces and, naturally, the last thing she wants is to fall in love with another soldier in that high-risk field. She outranks him, too, which is against Army regulations. But when she saves his life, transfers to his post, and meets his precious daughters, it should be a slam dunk! EXCEPT for the cartel leader who is out for her blood.....another terrific story from Tracy Brody. I'm so looking forward to the rest of the series and the many wonderful stories Brody will bring to her fans in the future.

Intense action packed read!

This team may not always get along, but when it comes right down to it, they are a team and will always have each-others backs. They actually get along about as well as a family of brothers do. An Army Black Hawk pilot, a woman, and survivor, Kristie Donovan is all of these and more. She’s is called in to train the Columbian military but finds herself in a dangerous rescue that could put her in danger. Bad Karma is a team of Army special forces that get the tough jobs. While working one of these jobs, they need an extraction, but when things go sideways the whole team is in danger. The only saving grace is that it’s not easy to find them or who they are. I loved this story. The plot, characters, and writing are great. I was drawn in from the first page and kept hostage until the end. Kristie and Mack have a lot of obstacles to overcome before they can move forward in their lives and find the brightness they both deserve. This was my first read of this series and of Tracy Brody’s stories, but I find that she will be a regular in my Kindle App. I really like her story and her writing. I need to find time to go back and read the first book in the Bad Karma series and watch for the next story in the series. I give this story a 5-star review and recommend it to readers who enjoy Military, suspense, or stories with heroines that know how to take care of themselves, but also know when to let the Hero take care of her and help her as well.
